Join UACDL or Renew Membership

UACDL offers annual memberships to private attorneys, public defenders, and law students who anticipate joining criminal defense. This membership allows access to UACDL services and the members-only side of the website.

Access to UACDL’s Criminal Defense CLEs

UACDL is the premier source of defense-related legal education in Utah. We feature both local and national experts speaking on a range of criminal defense topics including appellate law, DUI cases, capital punishment, jury trials, sex crimes and more. UACDL makes the education of the Utah defense bar one of its primary missions. It is our goal to provide the highest quality continuing legal education available anywhere in the State at a price affordable to all practitioners.

Member’s Only Listserv

Most UACDL’s members find that the listserv is the organization’s best feature. The listserv allows members to send emails to all other subscribed members to get input on complicated cases, brainstorm issues, and building off of each other’s experiences and insights. Our listserv is active, collaborative, and friendly. It’s usually 5-10 emails per day. Some members use a separate email account to keep their primary email free of emails, while other members elect not to be on the listserv, or receive emails through a daily digest (contact us if you would prefer either of those options).

Brief Bank Access

UACDL provides members with a brief bank of over 80 documents, the majority of which are motions to suppress. Members can search for briefs based on their issues and download pdf copies.

Video Library

UACDL members get access to a growing video library, where former CLE’s and presentations are available with the price of membership.

The video library also includes videos from past CLEs that can be purchased for self-study CLE credit.

Other Resources

UACDL is committed to increasing the quality of membership for its members. The membership portal includes a chart to help defense attorneys identify collateral consequences of convictions. Other additional resources will be added over time.

To become a UACDL member, apply by picking one of the options below. Alternatively, you can apply to UACDL by selecting it as an option when you renew your membership through the bar, selecting UACDL as one of the elective associations to join..

By becoming a member (or renewing a membership) you are certifying that you are either a practicing criminal defense attorney in the state of Utah or a law student who intends on becoming a criminal defense attorney. UACDL does not accept memberships from others.

Please review the listserv policies and terms of membership before taking the step to join.
