Terms of Membership

We’ may not be the police, but UACDL will enforce these terms of membership

By becoming a UACDL member (or renewing a membership) you are certifying that you are either a practicing criminal defense attorney in the state of Utah or a law student who intends on becoming a criminal defense attorney. You agree not to share emails, instructional materials, briefs, videos, or other documents or information with individuals outside of UACDL. You also agree not to share emails from our listserv with others outside of UACDL. With the exception of limited memberships by law students, UACDL does not accept memberships from attorneys or others working outside of criminal defense including prosecutors or judges.

These restrictions are meant to allow defense attorneys to feel free to share questions, pass along information, and brainstorm solutions to tough problems with other defense attorneys. When information is shared outside of UACDL it harms the free exchange of ideas and information inside a creative community meant to support defense attorneys.

If you are not a practicing defense attorney in the state of Utah (either in the state or admitted to the federal bar in Utah) or law student who intends on becoming a criminal defense attorney in the state of Utah (or admitted to the federal bar in Utah), your membership may be rejected or terminated. By going forward with your membership application/renewal, you are agreeing to abide by these terms. You also agree that if your membership is rejected or terminated for violating any of the terms of membership listed here or on the Listserv policies page, you will not be eligible for a refund for purchase of a membership or other purchases.

If you have any questions about these terms, please contact [email protected] before moving forward.
